Time to brag. Theo just graduated from Kindergarten at a Chinese Immersion School--yes, Theo's learning Chinese. And, his teachers even said that if you were talking to him on the phone, you would think he was Chinese.
Anyway, when a parent tells you, "My kid is great at X," usually you're disappointed when you actually observe said kid at activity X. "Wow, you're kid is the best 6-year-old baseball player I've seen," you say as you watch that 6-year old take a pitch to the chest and cry in agony.
Well, folks, I've got hard data to prove that Theo's Chinese rocks.
The other day, the family was driving back home from someplace (the place is unimportant right now). And, for some reason totally pertinent to the conversation, I boasted: "I am Dad! Hear me Roar!"
Theo, then uttered something in Chinese which I won't even pretend that I remember. The rest of the conversation unfolded like this:
Christin: "Theo, what did you just say?"
Theo: "My name is Dad. Hear me talk out loud."
Sniff sniff. That's my boy. And he knows me so well.
